Do I need eye protection when shooting?

Gun Safety: Eye Protection

If you are practicing with a shotgun, subcompact pistols or hunting rifles, it's important to be mindful of safety issues beyond the obvious. Keeping your barrel pointed downrange at all times is vital; but it's easy to overlook the need for eye protection on a firing range or outdoor shooting situation. Shooting glasses protect your eyes from ricochets, dust and debris kicked up by sudden wind on an outdoor range, and they also keep your eyes safe from hot brass ejected when firing.

Are you shooting with friends or co-workers? When several shooters use a range at the same time, the risk of being hit with hot brass is much higher. Shooting glasses keep your eyes safe from accidental contact with brass and keep you in full control of your firearm on the range.
